A drive across the Beebe Bridge over the Columbia River, in eastern Washington. January 2026. Michele is driving. Except for the sunny sky and lack of snow, this is the typical scenery along our usual winter route to the yurt. We take it several times each winter, it's a drive we're very familiar with. The music is what was playing in the car at the time, off the album Bloodline by Mon Rovia. Pardon the color/tonality in the video, I don't have mastery over the color space conversion from iPhone to PremierPro yet.
First 6 seconds: Christmas Day, 2025. Instead of spending the night and letting the yurt's woodstove heat the yurt and enable the roof snow to absorb heat, turn plastic, and then slide off in one dramatic whump, Michele scraped for the day while Rick watched and sort of helped a little. (Rick still dealing with a case of pneumonia.)
After the video's 6-second mark, the date is January 6, 2026. Rick is now also up, healthy and strong, warming the yurt inside with the woodstove and shoveling the non-deck areas, while Michele deals with the deck.
At the 33-second mark, the roof finally unloads due to the warming yurt.
